SEV Sweet Melissa

Kiko Doe (female) Paint

AKGA# 19Y489SEV60 DOB: 12/15/20194 yrs
This 3/4 Kiko doe is quite spunky and comes from a long line of great goats on our farm. Her great-grandmother is Big Momma and her great-great grandma is Khaki! Her mother, Melisande, is a ROC Ozymandias doe, so you know she is a great mother. Melissa has been a champ on maintaining good eye color. Very sturdy, yet feminine, doe. In 2023, she nursed extra kids not her own! Melissa is one of the best does in our breed-up program and we look forward to retaining her daughters.

This 7/8 Kiko doe is an illustration of what a good breed-up program can produce. On the maternal side, she goes back to Big Momma, her great-great grandmother and one of the first goats I ever owned. Her great-great-great grandmother is the indomitable Khaki! With crossbred goats, each generation is an opportunity to keep or cull. And she is a keeper.

She was bred to SFTX Big Iron for her first freshening and had two bucklings, which she raised to market. Hopefully, next year, we will see some doelings! She recovered from kidding in short order. Still not dewormed as of May 2024.
